Noteworthy

Hello there!

With the end of Sale-a-bration looming at us on Thursday, March 31st, we had another workshop to make sure more great people get their free goodies.

I have to say that I fell in love with one of the projects we made today. It's not only simple, but it's quick and fun. I stepped out of my comfort zone with this project and did some water-coloring techniques and distressing. Once I got started, there was no stopping me! I have no idea why I was so scared of trying out the Blender Pens (3 pack, 102845) and 7-sided distressing tool from the Cutter Kit (106958) but I'm glad I did.

After making a few samples for the workshop, I ended up making about twenty more for my card stash. How could I not with such an easy concept?

I believe I have found my favorite thing about demonstrating at these workshops. The moment when we're all wrapping up a project and everyone shows off what they've done. The diversity despite using the same supplies mixed with the pride of making something nice with your own two hands is so rewarding for me to witness. It just never ceases to amaze me how many different perspective there are among friends.

I should probably go unpack and sort out my supplies. Hooray for pretty procrastination!

So, I'll

One Spring Wonder

Welcome to the first day of spring!

I am still in complete awe with how much free stuff you can earn during Stampin' Up!'s Sale-a-bration! The workshop was a great success and I'm booked for one more before this joyous occasion ends on March 31st. I am having a total blast sharing all of these great products and ideas! I'm sure you can tell that by all of my exclamation marks. It's pretty hard to control myself!

I've been getting goodies every few days but haven't had a chance to really sit down and play with them yet. However, I do have something to share with you! This was an example of the One Sheet Wonder card  decorating technique and I found pretty decent instructions on Splitcoast Stampers (which also has it's own Stampin' Up! section). This is quite the doozy image wise, so hang on!

Stamp one sheet of 8.5x11 inch paper!

How is that? Take one sheet of cardstock, create my own patterned paper out of it, creatively cut it up, and use it design ten cards? What a sweet deal!

I didn't follow the templates perfectly but that's the whole point of making something handmade and personally. It resulted in a coordinating and fun collection of cards, some of which my hostess picked out as my thank you for opening up her home for the workshop.

Another great point of sharing this project to you is that you do not need a ton of supplies to make many nice gifts. This is especially so when you're first starting out. It's just like a wardrobe, with a few versatile core pieces, the possibilities are great!

First Workshop

Salutations!

Doing my best to make sure my workshops are being booked during the fabulous "Sale-a-bration" event and today's get together was quite the success! Here are snapshots of the A2-sized card and set of 3x3" thank you cards that we made today:

I may have gone a tad overboard with the cherries on the top card. The sample project only featured one but we may have gotten carried away and had a contest about who could punch the most cherries out of our tiny scrap of Red Glimmer Paper (Occasions Mini, 121790). Too much fun!

I can't wait to show you another project that I've been working on, but it will have to wait a little while longer!
