New Catalog

Hello All!

I'm back from visiting my folks and many childhood friends in Florida. It was a blast and a half! While I'm still adjusting to the dry heat and time difference, I was so excited to crack into the paper version of the new Stampin' Up! Catalog!

or

I've been able to view it in digital form for a few weeks now and love it. The way that the products are highlighted with the large close-up pictures just makes me happy. Ordering will not be available until noon Mountain Standard Time.

My Way: Starter Kits

Hello, All!

There's so much going on lately, it's almost hard to keep up with! This is especially so since I'm leaving to visit my folks in Florida for a whole three weeks starting tomorrow! I'm going to have my new stuff sent to their place because we can't have it sitting at home that whole time. Ha ha!

Are you keeping up with all of the retiring stamp sets and accessories? Don't forget to grab those favorites before they are gone! Click here to shop now!

As the company gets back to basics, we focus more on the traditional papercrafting and the up and coming digital technology. If that scares you, don't worry! There are so many tutorials popping up, fresh products released weekly, and you can always make hybrid (combine the two) projects! They just announced a new version of their software: My Design Studio 2! Click on the links to find out more about upgrading or all the goodies you're going to get with just buying the software.

Don't forget about the great things going on in the meantime with the free 30-day express trial! As the signs say, please contact me if you're interested in finding out more details!

Last year, Stampin' Up! was all about growth in our business and within ourselves: "+one". It had fabulous results. This year, we're all about the "My Way". Nothing screams this more so than to be able to fully customize your Demonstrator Starter Kit that now only costs $99 to join! That is truly amazing and I'm a little bit jealous. I was fortunate enough to heavily customize my kit but wow! Click on the link above to read about it or click the image below to see suggestions of which products to add to your kit.

Thanks to my status as a demonstrator, I got a sneak peek at some of the products weeks ago, to order some of the new basics last week, and I'm currently downloading the new catalog right now! I'll be putting in an order for new goodies once I get to Florida and that order will include my complimentary hard copy. I cannot wait!

Last Chance- Update

Hello All!

Back with more information! The Retiring Accessories List and Retiring Definitely Decorative List (both while supplies last/ until May 31st) have come out! You can look back on my last post or go here for the Retiring Stamps List (until May 31st) too. Or GO SHOP NOW!

Honestly, there is not as much products discounted as I hoped there would be. They are doing away with 12x12 textured cardstock, a lot of craft inking and Stampin' Write markers, but don't worry about the Classic Stampin' Pads retiring. They are reformatting them to be better than ever! I think we'll all be pleased by the changes. They'll still unlock and flip but the quality and ease of use are improving. Many wheels, extra types of mediums, texture plates, and ribbon are also going away. There's just so much to take in, you're better off strapping down with a cup of coffee and pouring over the pages.

As always, please let me know if you have any questions!

Last Chance- Early!

Hey all!

With Sale-a-bration season over, what do we have to get us all excited again?

Retiring stamps!

Okay, bear with me.

As hard as it is to part with favorites or stamp sets that have been on our wishlists for the past year, chance can be good! I started telling you about the various catalog changes last month, but want to make sure that you guys understood that the main Idea Book & Catalog is ending a month earlier (May 31st!) than normal thanks to the new release scheduling. It's be more focused on core year-round-friendly products while the remaining two mini catalogs (Occasions and Holiday), will be bigger and better than ever.

The moment the Almighty Retiring Stamps Lists are released, I attack my catalog and mark off everything that's being discontinued. The ones that are selected to go are often based on sales and how long they've been around. If it's an all-time favorite, chances are they are already in your growing collections. So, fresh content is a good thing! It's time to take into consideration what you've been saving up for before it's gone (also May 31st)! Clicking on the image below or on the link to check out the store. They will automatically update when the Last Chance Accessories Lists are released!

Speaking of, those lists will go live on Wednesday, April 25th and those products will only be available until May 31st or while supplies last. I'll update you with more information soon!

My Apologies

Hello All!
I know it's been a while since I've posted but I wanted to just come out and say that we're dealing with a lot of personal issues offline right now so this blog is being put back on the back burner indefinitely. I will try to come and post projects I'm working on when I get the chance, but I'm sure you understand. Thank you for your support this past year! It has meant so much to me.

Almost Spring

Hello All!

March is actually here! While the weather wavers back and forth between a few freezing nights and deliciously warm days, I wanted to share a simple card set I made that reminds me of both winter and spring.

I have been exploring a lot with monochromatic color schemes in my projects because it gives such a clean feeling almost instantly!

All Whisper White on Whisper White smooth card stock with accents of card stock and ink from the 2011 In Colors and the Fabulous Florets stamp set.

There are exciting and big changes coming to the catalogs this year and I cannot wait to share more about it with you as the information rolls out. Stampin' Up! is discontinuing their Summer Mini catalog but this is in combination of add more content to our Occasions and Holiday Minis! They will also be lasting longer as well. The 2012-2013 Idea Book & Catalog will be condensed as the company focuses more on what we do best: papercrafting! The great news about this is that they are making big changes and make them easier for me to mail them out to you. That also means that the current main catalog will be retiring a month earlier than usual but more about that later!

Have you put in more orders for the Sale-a-bration event yet? It ends this month! Stock up on those free goodies!

Stained Glass

Hello, All!

Have you recovered from sweets overload yet? Did you notice the change in my banner for the month of February? Thanks again to daynuh designs!

This card was inspired by my desire to continue to experiment outside of my comfort zone, the soft colors of spring, and cards that I've seen on the wonderful website, Stampin' Connection that only Stampin' Up! demonstrators can access to share ideas and projects. It's the easiest stained glass-inspired look you can do with a few markers.

I added a bit of Dazzling Details iridescent glitter glue to my stamped image from Delicate Doilies, tried sponging in non-neutral colors, and made sure to use my Square Lattice texture embossing folder. I'm trying to make more quick and simple cards to lessen the pressure to make a gorgeous card for eight hours. Not all of us have that kind of luxury!

Don't forget to check out Sale-a-bration going on now until the end of March! Who doesn't like free stuff?

Be Mine?

Happy Valentine's Day!

Here are a some sweet treats I made for some of the teachers I've worked with at school. Hope they like chocolate!

I added some Baker's Twine in Lucky Limeade and Island Indigo from the Occasions Mini Catalog, but I am really in love with my new Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die! This tiny folder not only adds different textures but cuts out a collection of butterflies with each pass through the machine. It's inspired me to start my own collection/ stash of these sweet embellishments. I started out some of the In Colors available now.
Concord Crush, Wisteria Wonder, Blushing Bride, and Calypso Coral.

Pool Party, Island Indigo, Peach Parfait, and Lucky Limeade.

Don't forget to stock up during Sale-a-bration for free stuff!

Valentine Defined

Hey there!

Can you feel the love in the air? Valentine's Day is almost here and I wanted to try a few new things with this card. I grabbed one of my favorite stamp sets from last year's Occasions Mini, Valentine Defined. It's only available via digital download now. All the more reason to snag your favorites while they are still around!

This year, it should be easier than ever to do so. We're changing up our catalogs. There will not be a Summer Mini anymore while the Holiday and Occasions Minis will run for an extra month. They will be bigger and better than ever! The current Idea Book & Catalog will close a month sooner at the end of May! The new IB&C will have a different look and not be as much of a behemoth as it is now. That's great news for me because I carry mine around with me all the time!

Here's my card:

The colors in the second photo are closer to the true colors. This is what I get for finishing my projects late at night and not being patient enough to wait until morning to take pictures. I used 5/8" Satin Ribbon in the now retired Early Espresso, but there's the always gorgeous Chocolate Chip available now!

Don't forget about Sale-a-bration going on right now! More free goodies than ever until the end of March!

Digital Expressions

Hey there!

Has the first month of 2012 really gone by already? Never mind that, I wanted to let you know about the start of an ongoing offer!

Do you have memory cards full of pictures you don't know what to do with besides scroll through them across your screen? Don't have time to haul out all of your crafting gear and make a project in those precious fifteen minutes (if only!) you get to yourself? Think that your handwriting or trimming skills are a little atrocious? Still want to take advantage of coordinating products in fresh designs without ordering a million pieces? This may be your chance to embark on a new creative adventure!

Digital. Scrapbooking.

Stampin' Up! has begun to offer an downloadable trial version of their digital scrapbooking software: My Digital Studio Express Trial. The full program with some content that you can use and order prints from free for 30 days. If you fall in love with it, you can order the downloadable version of the program, which is simply the MDS Express or the MDS full disc version.

It's much better than shelling out several hundred dollars on expensive photo-editing programs and then working with a completely unaffiliated other party to print out your memories. It's not just limited to books but cards, tags, and pretty much any other paper-crafting project you can imagine! Don't be intimidated by the thought of it- just try it! I'll be doing so this weekend when I have more time to play.

The MDS Express Trial: Has all the included fix-ins as MDS Express.

The MDS Express: Designer Series Patterns, a 9-piece brush stamp set, more than 50 embellishments and 20 punch shapes, and some designer templates.

The full My Digital Studio software: Click on the name to visit the website to see for yourself, but it has over 2000 pieces.

New content is released for download every week and you can buy packs of patterns, brush sets, and embellishments that you like to cater your collection to your tastes. So many of your favorite items, styles, and exclusive designs are available!

I love digi-scrapping having experimenting with it this past year. The supplies are cheaper and unlimited when you have the files. Clean up is a breeze and it doesn't take up physical space!

Don't forget about Sale-a-bration going on now until the end of March! Every $50 you spend, you get a free product!

Sprinkled Expressions

Hey there!

Have you gone nuts over Sale-a-bration yet?

This weekend I'm having my first workshop of the season and I can't to share and experiment with some of the stamps sets I was able to preorder as a demonstrator. I CASE'd (Copy and Share Everything) this card from a fellow demonstrator, Patrice Herrera at My Little Patch of Dirt. I saw the main design before she added that cute little shooting star or finished the inside. I love this layout so much that I made a set of these to show you. I'll be making a whole slew of these soon!

Each of these cards have Whisper White and Early Espresso for my neutrals, combined the 2011 In Colors, and I used the Square Lattice and Perfect Polka Dots embossing folders for a ribbon-like texture on some of my scraps. I used the SAB stamp set Sprinkled Expressions. It's right up my alley in terms of being a fun, bold, and graphic style!

Wisteria Wonder with Lucky Limeade.
How sweet!

Island Indigo with Calypso Coral.
What a great masculine card!

Lucky Limeade with Pool Party.
The color names make me think of summer in all this cold weather!

Pool Party with Island Indigo.
So refreshing!

Calypso Coral with Wisteria Wonder.
Almost a tropical feel to it!

In the past, the In Colors have been great but I always had one I loved so much more than the rest. First, it was Bermuda Bay, a feisty teal color. The 2010 In Colors not only brought a revamp on the product line by lasting two years, but they are staples when I want bright, bold, and basic colors. I loved them as a supplemental set to our regular color families. With the 2011 In Colors though... I just love using them as a set. They work so well together and are so fun and fresh!

Embossing the pieces of Early Espresso so they resembled ribbon was a fun touch. I even took my distressing tool from my Cutter Kit and roughed up the edges of one of the pieces. The main image of the card (the very back white piece) is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals. Those little things mean business! The background of my card base was made by not only using my Versamark watermark ink pad, but adding on some Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder for that extra oomph! It feels so slick and shines at the right angle. These extra step really took the card to the next level and I'm always looking for ways to do that!

Here are some close-up in progress pictures of heating up the embossing powder. It always look like I'm performing some sort of crafting magic trick when the powder melts!

It's so awesome. Just when you start to doubt whether you'll notice the difference, it blows your mind. Maybe we're just easily amused, ha ha!

Sale-a-bration 2012!

Hello!

That special time of year has come again! It's...

January 24th, 2012 until March 31, 2012!
Hooray! (Click above to see for yourself all of the exciting things happening over the next several weeks.)

Here's the catalog, it's bigger and better than ever with a nice mixture of products to choose from. Click on the image to view a PDF that you can also save and print.

How do you earn these? For every $50 you spend, you get to choose what you want from this catalog for free! This is on top of what you may earn through regular purchasing. We loaded on up so many stamp sets last year, it was fantastic! Hosting a workshop during this event and you earn even more rewards.

Don't know how you can control all of your excitement? Why not think about joining up as a demonstrator? I'm still mostly a hobbyist and most of what keeps me active is what I typically spend on personal supplies with all the great benefits and not as big a focus on running my own business. The Starter Kit only costs $125 during SAB but you also will get a free pack of Designer Series Paper or free My Studio Digital Downloads (your choice) each month for the rest of the year.

There are so many deals and free things, I can barely stand it! I'll be coming back later this week to show you a project that I made with one of my favorite new stamp sets available now.
